MERSEY MARINERS GROUP - EVENTS

Here is a List of Events taking place during the next 3 months : -

TUESDAY, 10th.April 1300 The first M.N. Day committee will be held at the Eldonian, Vauxhall Road, L3 6LG. Any Senior Official of a maritime organization on Merseyside who wishes to take part in the Merchant Navy Day on Sunday, 2nd. September is invited.

SUNDAY, 15th.APRIL 1200 The IMarEST are holding a Dedication Service at “The Heroes of the Engine Room” Memorial, close to the Liver Building. This is to dedicate an Interpretation Board.

SUNDAY, 15th.April 1900 The Lord Mayor’s Service of Remembrance for the centenary of the sinking of RMS”TITANIC”, will be held at the Anglican Cathedral. All are requested to be in their seats by 1900, the Service commences at 1930.

WEDNESDAY, 18th.April 1100 St. Helen’s Council are granting the Freedom of the Borough to all local Veterans, at St.Helens Parish Church. You should be in your seat by 1100. The Service commences at 1130.

MONDAY, 7th.May 1330. A commemorative Service for the Anniversary of the sinking of RMS”LUSITANIA” in 1915, will be held at the Maritime Museum, behind the Harbour Master’s House.

FRIDAY, 25th. May 1100 A Service commemorating the 30th. Anniversary of the sinking of s.s.”ATLANTIC CONVEYOR” in 1982, during the Falklands War, will be held at Our Lady and St. Nicholas’s Church, Liverpool. Please be in your seat by 1030.

SATURDAY, 30th.June Armed Forces Day.

WEDNESDAY, 4th.July 1400 The Annual Service of the War Widows Association of Great Britain will be held at the Anglican Cathedral, Liverpool.

The Liverpool Seafarers Centre is always looking for clothes in good condition, old Mobile Phones 3G with chargers, paperbacks and weekend colour supplements. I can collect from the Wirral.
